Three years after Les had his first life changing experience at a David Wilkerson crusade, Les began his journey of third world missions in the summer of 1981. His first trip was to Les Cayes, Haiti with Mission Outreach Inc. (MOI) to help build a church.
In the summer of 1982, Les visited India with a couple of friends, which was another life changing experience that fueled his desire to return with a friend. In the mean time Les met Catherine and they were married in 1984. How many life changing experiences can one handle? Then, on July 4, 1986, Les and Catherine, married a year and a half, and another couple, six month newly weds, went to India. You can read more about the India experience here. Returning to the states, they decided they wanted to help with both the physical and spiritual needs of any people group. Les and Catherine started a family, yet still seeking and pursuing missions with their young family. During these years, Les completed his education in agriculture and Catherine in holistic nutrition. Years later they were invited to Nigeria to begin an agricultural project in self-sustainability and physiological nutrition.
“Working themselves out of a job” in Nigeria, the door opened up in Haiti again some 20 years later.
Les is actively engaged in learning the culture and meeting the public, as well as gaining knowledge of the weather patterns and soil productivity. He also enjoys preaching whenever the opportunity arises, has a wealth of knowledge in agricultural projects, and training in self-sustainability.
Catherine is a continual student and lecturer on physiological nutrition and thoroughly enjoys watching people’s lives being transformed both physically and spiritually. She enjoys singing, teaching Bible studies, using expressive worship, encouraging biblical womanhood, healthy living, and crocheting.
Les & Catherine have four children and five grandchildren children.
