Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit our website! We pray that you are blessed as you read about the ministry that the Lord has entrusted to us.
Both Les & Catherine began with an unique calling on their lives to a long-term, full-time vision …to "Go..." and further God's kingdom to under-developed countries, some of which have never heard the Gospel. Our approach is to train nationals in self-sustainable agriculture that will help them physically, and at the same time, reach out to their spiritual needs. We refer to this as the "two handed gospel".
LWC (Laborers With Christ) is a non-profit, tax-deductible mission organization whose purpose is to reach one Tribe, one Tongue, one People, and one Nation at a time with a two handed gospel. The two handed gospel involves both the physical and spiritual needs of the world.
Often in the Bible, we can see this example of Jesus. Not only did He minister to the spiritual side of man, but He also reached out to physical needs as well. Our goal is indigenous in nature, to train and to disciple in both spiritual and physical capacities allowing us to "work ourselves out of a job" and then move on to the next needy area.
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven... a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted..." Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
The physical aspect of the ministry of LWC entails an agricultural and nutritional vision. This vision is to advance the health and wellbeing of the poor and needy, widow and orphan, and others through presenting an understanding of a healthy lifestyle change through nutrition and agriculture. LWC accomplishes this by establishing a research project through a program called FAAGRIC (Faith Agriculture) Research for the small farmer.
One can gain so much wisdom and value from the scriptural point of view regarding agriculture and nutrition. We take a look at the concepts of sowing and reaping, the miracle of life, and of spiritual rebirth to name a few.
On the spiritual side, we focus on the truth of the Gospel, and using the word of God to instruct on the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Laborer's With Christ, is our family ministry with a multi-generational vision:
...to equip our children and children's children for spiritual ministry and maturity
Malachi 4:6; Deuteronomy 6:4-9
When our children were young, we incorporated them in ministry as "Expressions of Faith" through Bible Gems, choral readings from the Beattitudes, Lord's Prayer, and Armour of God.
...to carry out evangelism and discipleship to the lost
Through bible studies and leading and counseling others to do the same.
...to "live out the gospel."
Encourage Christ like living by displaying a Christ-like walk.
Meet our family:
Les, Catherine, Rachelle, Josiah, Zachery, and Jonathan.
Dad (Les) enjoys preaching whenever the opportunity arises, agricultural projects, and training in self-sustainability. Mom (Catherine) enjoys singing, Bible studies, using expressive worship, and encouraging biblical womanhood and healthy living. Their children (Rachelle, Josiah, Zachery, and Jonathan) are grown and follow the paths God is laying before them.
LWC is maturing.
Dad (Les) still enjoys preaching, engaging in learning the culture and meeting the public, as well as gaining knowledge of the weather patterns and soil productivity.
Mom (Catherine) continues to enjoy singing and using expressive worship. She is a continual student and lecturer on physiological nutrition and thoroughly enjoys watching people’s lives being transformed both physically and spiritually.
Rachelle and her husband Nathaniel are maintaining things at home while her parents are in Haiti. She spends much of her time caring for their twins Isaiah and Lilia who were born September 12, 2012 and Hadassah born February 17, 2015. Rachelle also is very active in counseling and encouraging young ladies and her peers to maintain a Christ-like character and promotes virtuous womanhood. She is a gifted writer and hopes to someday publish a book of her poems. She has put a couple of her poems into video format that you can view on her YouTube channel including "I Will Choose To Smile!" and "It's Time for Spring!"
